Zoltán Kocsis (Hungarian:[ˈzoltaːnˈkot͡ʃiʃ]; 30 May – 6 November ) was a Hungarian pianist, conductor and composer.[1]

Born in Budapest, he began his musical studies at the age of five and continued them at the Béla Bartók Conservatory in , studying piano and composition.[2] In he was admitted to the Franz Liszt Academy of Music, where he was a pupil of Pál Kadosa, Ferenc Rados and György Kurtág, graduating in
